$9.3m Arms Deal: Jonathan Has Committed an Impeachable Offense - Basorun

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Olufunmi Basorun, has insisted that the decision of the President Goodluck Jonanthan-led Federal Government to carry $9.3m in cash to South Africa under the guise of arms purchase is an impeachable offence.

Basorun, who spoke to Daily Independent in his Igbogbo, Ikoru, Lagos residence, urged the National Assembly to investigate the matter thoroughly because it does not speak well of the country.

“The President should be held responsible because the buck ends on his table,” he said.

Basorun expressed regret over the Boko Haram insurgency that has led to the takeover of some major towns in Borno State.
