Husband caught on camera handing over cash to hitman he hired to kill his bride

I'm sure most of you are familiar with this case...but let me give you a bit of the background. In 2010, newlywed British national Shrien Dewani and his 28 year old wife Anni Dewani were in South Africa for their honeymoon and while riding in a taxi in Cape Town on Nov. 13th, Anni was shot dead by two men who hijacked the taxi. The men involved in the murder were later caught and they shockingly confessed that the new husband had hired them to attack them in the car and kill his wife.

Boko Haram reportedly sacks Army HQ in Mubi, Adamawa state

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, suspected members of Boko Haram entered Mubi town in Adamawa state today Oct. 29th and took over the army headquarters of the 234 battalion in the town.

The troops guarding the barracks reportedly initially exchanged fire with the sect men but fled after they realized they were outnumbered by the militants and their heavy firepower.

In a related development, the sect members are reported to have attacked Uba and Hildi towns and other locations in Borno and Adamawa states this morning Oct. 29th. According to residents of the villages, the sect men arrived in the early hours, shooting at them, burning buildings and forcefully took away their food stuff.

Body of Diepriye Alamieyeseigha's late son flown into Nigeria

The body of Oyoms Alamieyeseigha, one of the sons of former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepriye Alamieyesegha, was flown into Abuja this evening from Dubai via Arik Air, on transit to Port Harcourt, as the family prepare to bury him.

The 30 year old man, who was schooling in Dubai, was found murdered there on October 11th. Police initially said it was suicide but that has since been ruled out. Hopefully, the people behind his death will be captured.

According to a new report, super wealthy Africans are spending almost £4million on London property every week as they snap up some of the most exclusive investments in the capital, this is according to Real Estate agents in the UK.

More than £600million has been spent in London by Africans within the last three years and its on the increase. The wealthy buyers are from Nigeria, Ghana, Congo, Gabon, Cameroon and Senegal, UK Daily Mail reports.  

Nigerians are the biggest spenders, with wealthy nationals forking out £250million on London homes in the last three years. A mixture of traditional reasons combined with increased terrorism and the outbreak of Ebola is said to be behind the dramatic influx of African money to the capital...

Photo: 300l UNIBEN student killed on campus by unknown gunmen

A 300 level student of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Physical Sciences at the University of Benin in Edo state, Ejiroghene Gbenidio (pictured above) was shot dead by unknown gunmen inside the Ugbowo campus of the school on Friday October 24th.

According to reports, Ejiro was attending the jeans carnival of the final year students of his faculty when he was accosted and shot in the head. He died instantly. 

His body has been deposited at the Benin Teaching Hospital morgue. The matter is now being handled by the police at the Ugbowo Police station.

Some students say they suspect it might have been as a result of a fallout between rival cult groups.

Kim Kardashian says her 16 months old daughter North West has developed her own unique style and prefers the masculine, boyish clothes to girly, pink dresses. Kim explains;

"She's not that girly, I don't really like pinks and your typical girly colours. I like a neutral palette for her and with Kayne the same. I'm not big on loud or over the top colours. I love when she wears greens and reds and blush, just different colours of blue and creams. She doesn't like pink or purple. She likes greys, creams, oatmeal colours and black,' she told Lucky magazine.

"Every once in awhile she'll add in some colour, like with her little red Air Yeezys, but other than that she likes to keep it pretty simple.'

48 year old Nigerian man arraigned in UK court for drug trafficking

A 48 year old Nigerian man, Mathew Atueyi, who was arrested on August 2nd at Edinburgh Airport, UK with 80 packs of cocaine valued at £387,000 was arraigned today October 27th before a high court in Glasgow over drug trafficking charges.

At the court hearing today, prosecuting counsel, David Nicolson said that Atueyi, who arrived the UK from Nigeria via Paris was arrested after £2000 was found on him. A urine test carried out on him tested positive for cocaine and an Xray conducted at the St John’s Hospital Livingston showed he had ingested multiple wraps of cocaine.....

More about the alleged OAU rapist

Alleged rapist Abayomi (pictured shirtless) was caught in Ife town outside OAU campus today. He was alleged to have raped a student from the department of Dramatic Art, Faculty of Art Of Obafemi Awolowo University outside the school campus somewhere behind Damico Institute Along Ede Road, Ife Osun State.

He was caught after the rape victim reported to the Students Union who promptly went looking for him. He was brought back to OAU where he was paraded at the Senate Building this evening. He has since been handed over to school security who will hand him over to police.

Gov. Amaechi reacts to presidential statement, comes for Reuben Abati

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state has reacted to yesterday's voice from the presidency where he was advised to stop political rascality and blackmail. Speaking through the state's Commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari, Governor Amaechi said there was never a time he discussed First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan. He also described Presidential Spokesman, Reuben Abati as the rascality within the Presidency...."I would want to say that the Presidential Spokesman should be careful for the kind of threats he issues to an elected Governor. He should remember that the President is not a prefect of the governor. He was elected as President just as the Governor was elected as a governor, and Nigeria is a federation. And please, Abati should know his limits and need not attempt to cross his boundaries."It is a bit strange to hear the kind of comments coming out of the Presidency and this shows that the statement was already prepared before governor Amaechi spoke. At no point in his speech did Governor Amaechi make any references. His wife was not even discussed because she is not an official of government. I do not understand where or how Mr. Abati got his story, so we just take it that this is one of those clear indications of rascality within the Presidency trying to call a dog a bad name and hang it”.

Speaker Aminu Tambuwal formally defects from PDP to APC

The Speaker of Nigeria's House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has formally defected from the People's Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressive Party, APC. The speaker made the announcement at exactly 12.24pm today October 28th during the plenary session of the House.

In a short speech, the speaker said his defection was born out of the yearning of his people in Sokoto state. There are speculations that he's planning to contest for governor of Sokoto State. The House has adjourned seating till December 3rd.
