Africa’s biggest singing duo P-Square come through with the second video to one of the singles off their recently released 6th studio album, “Double Trouble”. Shekini video is an energetic pictorial which sees the artistes combine with youthful dancers to perform moves that’d bring you to life.
From garages to underground scenes, the dark-themed flick definitely does justice to the song. Video was directed by Jude “Engees” Okoye, and song produced by Vtek, who also made a cameo appearance.

Tambuwal dumps presidential aspiration, settles for Sokoto governorship

There are reports that the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, has dumped his presidential aspiration and might be settling for the Sokoto state governorship ticket under the APC.

According to media reports, some chieftains of the APC loyal to General Buhari who is also gunning for the presidential ticket under APC, prevailed on Tambuwal to step down for the former head of state. The Speaker has yet to respond to this new report.

A video of a Kenyan woman being stripped naked by men on a street in Nairobi last week for dressing 'inappropriately' has sparked outrage in the country leading to several protests. Several women, including celebs and politicians took to the streets of Kenya today to protest the harassment calling for it to be illegal and asking government to arrest the men shown in the video stripping the woman naked.

The protesters have also started a campaign called #MyDressMyChoice, saying undressing a woman in public is sexual harassment. See photos from the protest after the cut...

Members of Ekiti Assembly impeach Speaker

This man is not having a good time at all right now. A few weeks after his fuel station was shut down by the Ekiti govt, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adewale Omirin, has been impeached.

7 PDP members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly sat this morning to impeach him in his absense and replaced him with another member. According to reports, the police prevented the Speaker and 19 other senators from entering the assembly complex as the impeachment proceedings was going on.

Gov. Fayose accused of giving N200m contract to his blood brother

The APC in in Ekiti State has accused Governor Ayo Fayose of awarding a contract of repainting the Ekiti State Governor's Office to his 'blood brother' at the cost of N200m.

The APC alleged that Gov. Fayose asked for marble to be put in front of the Government House, something they claim he'd earlier condemned as being too expensive. 
 
In a statement by Ekiti State Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, two days ago Nov 16, APC said,
"To add salt to injury, artisans working on the marble are all brought from Ibadan when many Ekiti artisans could do the job. This is a man who claims to be a friend of the masses. He is repainting the Governor's Office awarded by direct labour at the cost of N200m to his blood brother." continue...

Gunmen reportedly attack Secondary school in Niger State

I guess their targets are now schools. A week after a suicide bomber killed about 49 students at Govt Science Secondary school in Yobe state, gunmen attacked Limawa primary and secondary schools, Minna, Niger state this morning at about 10.30am, injuring many students.

According to an eye witness, the attackers shot sporadically in the air before using their machetes to inflict injuries on some students. It is not yet clear if they killed anyone but several students have been rushed to the hospital.

The Niger state Police command spokesperson DSP Ibrahim Gambari, who confirmed the incident, said the police are there now and normalcy has since been returned to the area.

FG approves extention of state of emergency rule in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states

The Federal Government has approved the extension of state of emergency rule in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States, the three states that have recorded the highest cases of Boko Haram attacks.

The decision to extend the emergency rule for the third time was taken at the National Defence Council meeting which was presided over by President Jonathan earlier today at the presidential villa Abuja.

Miss Honduras 2014 vanishes days before trip to UK for Miss World pageant

Miss Honduras 2014 Maria Jose Alvarado (pictured above) has been missing since last Thursday Nov 13th. Maria, 19, who was due to fly to London this past Sunday to join other contestants for the 2014 Miss World pageant, vanished along with her sister, Sofia, after attending a friend's party that Thursday night in Santa Barbara, Honduras. The two sisters have not been seen or heard from after they said goodbye to other friends at the party.

Emir of Kano, Sanusi, advises Nigerians to arm themselves against Boko Haram

Former CBN governor and Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi has advised Nigerians who are constantly faced with attacks from Boko Haram members, to arm themselves against further attacks from the sect. According to BBC, the respected ruler said this at a prayer meeting last Friday.
"These terrorists slaughter our boys and abduct our girls to force them into slavery. People should not be afraid of them because of the recent success they seem to have achieved. People should not sit idle and say prayer is the only solution. People should be made aware of the importance of being in a state of preparedness and make sure they acquire what they need to protect themselves. People must not assume that the crisis will not reach their area. If it comes, we are asking God to give us fortitude, but if He wishes to take martyrs from amongst us, we should be ready to give our lives." he said.

A 300level student of Bells University of Technology in Ota, Ogun state named Ruth Idahosa died around 2am this morning after suffering an Asthma attack late last night which led to her hitting her head.

According to her friends, Ruth had the attack while eating, causing her to choke and lose balance, leading to her falling and hitting her head on the ground. She bled.

The students around her said they called the university ambulance but there was no answer. They were left with no choice than to use a hairdresser's vehicle to lift the unconscious girl to the clinic.
"As usual, the incompetent nurses and staff of the clinic started to delay. Then the worst came - she passed on." her friend said. So sad! May her soul rest in peace..amen.

Femi Fani-Kayode discharged and acquitted of money laundering

Federal High court sitting in Lagos this morning discharged& acquitted former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode of 38 out of the 40 amended count charge of money laundering brought against him by the EFCC in 2008.

Delivering her judgement, the presiding judge, Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia, said that EFCC had not provided any evidence that proved that the former minister had in anyway laundered money through fictitious business transactions. According to her, the prosecution had failed woefully in proving that he was guilt in all the 38 count charge brought against him.
She went further to say that all the witnesses provided by the prosecution since the trial started had not provided any evidence to prove that the former Minister had any business dealings with them.
 
Consequently she discharged and acquitted him of 38 count charges but however instructed him to enter a defence against the two other charges counts. The case was adjourned till December 8th.

Sierra Leone doctor brought to the US for Ebola treatment dies

A surgeon from Sierra Leone who was being treated for Ebola in the US died this morning November 17th in a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, aged 44.

Late Dr Martin Salia who had US residency and was married to an American, arrived for treatment in the state on Saturday November 15th in a critical condition after leaving Freetown by air ambulance.
"We are extremely sorry to announce that the third patient we've cared for with the Ebola virus, Dr Martin Salia, has passed away as a result of the advanced symptoms of the disease." the Nebraska Medical Center said in a statement.

Most people who have seen the production didn't like it and have dragged Wendy and Lifetime by the weave. The Nation correspondent kidnapped in Abia state

The Abia state correspondent for the Nation Newspaper, Mr. Ugochukwu Ugorji-Eke has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen. He was kidnapped on Sunday November 16th in front of his premises at Toengine Crescent, off Ovom Road, Ogbor Hill, Aba.

According to an eyewitness report, Ugorji-Eke was returning from an outing at about 7.30pm when he was accosted in front of his house by the kidnappers. He was dragged out of his car and whisked away in the kidnappers car. 

 
The abductors are said to be asking for N20million to free him. They warned his wife not to involve the police in the negotiations or risk losing him. The state Police commissioner sas they are investigating the matter.
